Worst run winery ever. We visited the winery at a local wine fest, and actually liked one of their wines. My girlfriend and I bought a few bottles. We were not charged for the wine for a full month, which was fine, but a little odd. A full month later, two months after the wine fest, we were c...

Loved it, loved it, loved it. The tasting staff was knowledgeable. One of the owners came out and was very friendly and knowledgeable about wines. There was a band. We had a glass of wine and stayed all afternoon. Wonderful!!

this was the worst winery of the day. would not recommend it. the staff was unfriendly and didn't know anything about the winery or the owners. when they poured wines, they didn't describe them because they obviously weren't trained well. one woman tried, but her trainer was very snooty and didn'...

I went to Piedmont Winery with no expectations but I was greeted by a very nice Chardonnay. The tasting overall was good and the staff was very friendly. Recommend engaging your pourer in conversation and they will be happy to tell you all about the winery and the winemakers vision. Wonderful ...

The day that I went for a tasting, the weather was perfect and the buses were plentiful. The woman giving us our tasting was very nice, but was distracted by the large number of people that were still packed into the house. The wine was not to my taste, but I would say a definite place to stop ...

I went to Delaplane Cellars on the recommendation of a local restaurant and I have to say that I was not disappointed. The tasting price was rather high, but the cost of the wines were not inexpensive, so I understand the higher price for the tasting. The view from the massive windows and outs...

Stone Mountain Vineyard was offering an Open House on Halloween which was a wonderful surprise when my friends and I arrived. For $12 they offered 3 different tastings, a wine glass and light fare. Stone Mountain is located atop the Blue Ridge Mountains in Greene County, VA. They offer tastings o...

I'll admit, I'm partial to La Grange because I volunteer there but even when I didn't, I loved visiting. La Grange in a nut shell: plethora of incredible wines including: Pinot Gris (by far my favorite white) Fletcher's Chardonnay, Viognier, Rose of Merlot, Cuvee Blanc (blend of whites) Norton, B...

Since the tasting bar was crowded, we were seated and had our own private tasting which was really nice. (There were 8 of us). A musician was singing and playing classic rock on an acoustic guitar. A fire was lit. Aspen Dale pairs their five wines with food which is always a plus. The only con i...

Hume opened in July and their grapes are from Breaux vineyards. The tasting room is in a wood cabin but is very modern indoors. Hume currently does not offer food and the fee is $5 for 4 tastes.
09 Vidal Blanc- crisp like a Sauvignon Blanc, 1% residual sugar, $17. This was our favorite which we ...

Rural Retreat's tasting room is in a gift shop, not an actual winery. (They offer unique handmade gifts, bags of coffee beans, a plethora of food, etc.) As far as I could tell, there was no place to sit. This is not pleasant wine for it all tastes/ smells like honey. The servers were very friendl...

Peaks of Otter offers a plethora of fruit wines which I'm not a huge fan of. Their tasting room is in a barn and they do not use glasses. Instead, they use tiny plastic shot cups for the tastings. The server kept spilling the wine all over the makeshift bar. She was very friendly and it was a nea...

Each time I've been to Barrel Oak Winery, there's been a party of some sort going on. In fact two of my friends have celebrated birthdays there. I love their glasses which are free with a tasting. I tried both the BOW and the WOW tasting. Hands down, my favorite is the Chocolate Lab which is a P...

Our knowledgeable server was a sweetheart who took numerous pictures of us inside the winery and on the deck. Their wine and tasting is a bit expensive but their Viognier is fabulous. We purchased an 08 Honah Lee Viognier, 08 Maggie's Vineyard Viognier and an 07 Emerald Lake Viognier.
