Black and Tan Terrier: The Black and Tan Terrier was a smooth coated lapdog, not a broken haired working dog.

While I do not doubt the origins of the Welsh Terrier, the Black and Tan did indeed exist and was a lapdog for ladies. I in fact, have an 1860's painting of the breed done in London.This breed was smooth-coated, with cropped ears,and little underjaw.

Very likable dog and easy to train - will probably out smart you! The short hairs are easier to care for. They love to run and need daily exercise to stay healthy and out of trouble.
